Christmas Break

Here are some pictures from Christmas break...

After we took our floral design class, we decided to make an arrangement as a centerpiece for Christmas dinner. It turned out really well!

The only problem is that we didn't take a picture of it. We let Lane's sister's kids use the remnants to make their own arrangements, and this is Avery's. It looks good huh?

Lane wearing the infamous Blazer robe that I made for him 2 years ago for Christmas. He's excited to open presents!

We had our own Christmas at our apartment before we left for Oregon, so we decorated a tree and even left Santa a poptart (which he ate!)

I See a Theme....

Lately, only one thing has been on Lane's mind. I'll let you guess what it is.

Below is the steelhead he caught while he was up in Oregon interviewing at OHSU for dental school. He's pretty proud-it's his first one and weighed 7 pounds I think (I usually just zone out when he talks about fishing but I caught that part).

This is what I caught him doing last night. He took out all of his lures and lined them up on the table, then took pictures of them. I see a little similarity between him and Confessions of a Shopaholic

I found this one day when I opened the silverware drawer-our neighbors made brownies at our apartment because they were already cooking something, and Lane wanted some of them. Apparently they were coming over right then, so he cut some and threw them in the silverware drawer. Haha. Never a dull moment with Lane.

My family came up last week to go skiing. It was really fun to spend time with them, and to ski of course. This was the first time I've gone this winter (sad, I know). On our last day of skiing, my dad broke his ribs. Ouch! The next morning David (my brother) and Lane were playing soccer with some friends and David broke his tibia. So, maybe Utah's not the best place for my family to visit. My mom was stuck with 2 invalids on the flight home. When she called up the airlines to request 2 wheelchairs, the booking agent laughed at her.

Oh yeah, and one more thing-Lane's going to dental school!!!! After 3 interviews (Tufts, USC, and OHSU) and being gone a week and half, we're about 95% sure we're going to be living in Oregon for the next four years!

Textbooks

Everyone know that textbooks are way expensive. Throughout my years at BYU, I've found little tricks to get around the exorbitant costs, like buying used or international editions. However, my favorite part of the school year is the beginning when I can sell all of my old textbooks to students and make my money back! I know I'm technically not making any money since I already spent it, but it totally feels like I am, and I'm also cleaning out my bookshelf in the process. This combines 2 of my favorite things-making money and organizing.
Anyway, that was just a random thought. Lane and I spent Christmas in Oregon with his family, and we had a great time! Pictures coming soon (right after we take down our Christmas decorations ;))

Find Your Missing Money!

In my personal finance class, I learned about 2 websites that help you find missing money. If a company can't find your address, your rebate (or whatever it is), will be sent to the state government, where it will be held forever. All you have to do is go on the state's website and type in your name. If you have any money there, your name comes up and you send in a paper, and then you get your money! I looked up some people that I know, and Lane has 2 unclaimed things, my grandpa has 1, and Lane's mom has 5! How cool is it to get free money?!!! The websites are unclaimed.org and missingmoney.com. Good luck, and let me know if you find any!

Laundry

Not a very interesting title, but a VERY interesting assortment of things in the picture. These are all things that I found in Lane's pockets before doing the laundry. Why does he have a pinecone and elk tooth in his pocket you may ask? I have absolutely no idea. At least he doesn't put bugs and snakes in his pockets anymore (which he did when he was little... His poor mom!).

Looks Like We'll Make it After All!

Ok that title was a joke. One year ago today we were married in the Portland Temple!!! My how time flies.
